Andrea Poffe was born in Verona on April 8, 1980 and died in Milan on May 4, 2020.
Always passionate about sports since young age, in his teen years he practiced semi-professional cycling. He graduated with honors in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano and obtained a second degree in industrial engineering at Ecole Centrale in Paris.
After a short academic research experience at MIT in Boston in 2005, he returned to Italy. He began his professional career as a business consultant for the American company McKinsey & Co. In 2007 he returned to the United States to obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration at Harvard University. He graduated in 2009, and he started a new career in high finance for the Morgan Stanley investment bank, first in London and then in New York.
In 2011, at the age of 30, Andrea abandoned his corporate career and returned to Italy to get closer to the world of sports, and to find a more rewarding lifestyle. In the same year, Andrea founded the Zero-Gravity: the sports association.
Zero-Gravity created the first freestyle gym in Milan: a sports center where you can train sports that require intensive acrobatics, such as snowboarding, freestyle skiing, wakeboarding, parkour, artistic gymnastics, elastic trampoline, and aerial tools.
Today Zero-Gravity is an established reality that counts more than 100,000 members, over 100 staff, and is a unique example of social innovation.
In 2013, in support of Zero-Gravity, Andrea founded the company ZEROGY Srl, to design and manufacture innovative sports equipment for acrobatic and freestyle sports. It was ranked third in the "Welcome Business" start-up competition promoted by the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
Today ZEROGY manufactures equipment and builds gyms on the "Zero-Gravity" model so that the experience gained over the years is made available to everyone.
